Monterey Car Week is arguably my favorite week of the year, host to a few of the world's best car shows and perfect roads for driving. In keeping with the color themes explored over the past year, I decided to document my week in Monterey with a special version of Phase One's 100 megapixel camera system, a filterless "full spectrum" sensor which captures the unseen infrared and ultraviolet wavelengths in addition to visible color. The result is vibrant imagery with a false color appearance, particularly in organic materials or anything absorbing/emitting infrared energy. It also has some interesting effects on various types of car paint, as seen below in my favorite memories from the week. Special thanks to Ken Scott of Digital Transitions, who made it possible for me to use this very cool (and very rare) digital back!
